Ram Sharan Mahat accuses government of bias

Dang : Nepali Congress leader Dr Ram Sharan Mahat has said that most of the projects started by the erstwhile governments led by the Nepali Congress are now in limbo due to the government’s bias against such projects.

Talking to media persons of Dang at Ghorahi today, leader Mahat said, “The erstwhile government has started around 13,000 big projects across the nation. These projects are now in limbo.”

Regarding the problem of low expenditure of the development budget, NC leader and former Finance Minister said, “How can the development budget be spent? Budget expenditure is seen after the construction of the projects starts. Now development activities are not taking place in the country.”

The NC leader further said that the government should give responsibility of these projects to local governments.

He also accused the government of bias against the projects brought by NC-led government. Saying problem has been seen in constitution implementation, leader Mahat said that the private sector is disappointed.

He said, “The government has to encourage the private sector.” Leader Mahat said that it was necessary to bring improvement in leadership of the party, saying there is a big problem in the party.

He argued that there was no reality the news disseminated in the media regarding involvement of party president in the wide-body aircraft purchase scam. The study of the probe committee and court process would prove it, he added.
