Inactive lifestyle behind increasing number of kidney patients

Dang: Chief Minister of State-5, Shankar Pokhrel, has said that number of kidney patients has been increasing due to the sedentary lifestyle of people in recent period.

At a programme organised by Health Division of Tulasipur Sub-Metropolitan City here today on the occasion of World Kidney Day, Chief Minister Pokhrel said that kidney treatment centre would be brought into operation at three state-level hospitals of the state.

He also requested noted nephrologist Dr Rishi Kumar Kafle to run effective kidney treatment centre for kidney patients in state-level, not only in Kathmandu.

Chief Minister Pokhrel said, "We have made a plan to develop three state-level hospitals as the specialized one. We are ready to upgrade the hospital if the federal government gave authority for the same." 

He further said that the state government has made a policy to provide specialized service of basic level within state for eye treatment.
