Kathmandu : Nepali Congress parliamentary party has expressed sorrow over the demise of Punya Prasad Shrestha, father of party's former chief whip and central member Chin Kaji Shrestha.
NC chief whip Bal Krishna Khand, in a condolence note, extended condolences to the bereaved family and wished eternal peace to the departed soul today. His demise caused an irreparable loss to the party, he said in the note.
Punya Prasad, who had joined the NC in 2007 BS, made contribution to various democratic movements, which is worth remembering, the condolence note added.
He died in course of treatment at Om Hospital in Kathmandu on Saturday. He was 99.
