Share market enjoys double-digit rise

Kathmandu: The domestic share market Sunday, the first day of the week, welcomed the Dashain, one of the greatest festivals of Nepalis, with a green signal. 

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by a double digit (14.15 points) to close at 1242.43 points. Likewise, the sensitive index that measures the share values of 'A' class companies went up by 3.51 points.

The total turnover was Rs 269,913,729 and a total of 1,016,460 units of share were traded. The share values of two sub-indices, however, suffered a fall today.

The hydropower and manufacturing, and production sub-indices were hit by a 1.31 and 95.73 fall respectively. 

Similarly, remaining NEPSE sub-indices– banking (17.37 points), hotel (55.34), development bank (18.15), finance (3.24), non life insurance (87.61), others ( 4.27), microfinance ( 11.14) and life insurance ( 57.49)— elevated respectively.
