Football championship for rhino conservation

kathmandu: A Rhino Conservation Football Championship is to be organized here for sending out the message of preserving the endangered one-horned rhino. 

The championship that is held every year will kick off on October 28. The championship is organized by the Nanda Bhauju Madhyawarti Upabhokta Samiti. 

Speaking in a press conference today, Samiti president Doman Bahadur Bhandari said that the teams of Nepal Army, Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force as well as the ‘A’ Division clubs will compete in the championship that has been held since 15 years. 

The winning team will bag Rs 499, 555 and the first runner-up team Rs 255,555. The goal of organizing the championship is to encourage youths towards conservation of the rhino through the sports, Bhandari said.
