Lalitpur Patriots defeat Chitwan Tigers by 11 runs in EPL

Kathmandu : Lalitpur Patriots today beat Chitwan Tigers by 11 runs in the first match under the ongoing Everest Premier League (EPL) at Kirtipur-based Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground. With this win, the Lalitpur, which also won the opening match on Saturday, got two points. 

Put into bat first after winning the toss, the Lalitpur made a total of 143 runs for five wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Sonu Tamang hit 35 runs not out while Sandip Jora 25, Gaurav Tamor 30, Jaya Kishan Kolshawala 20 and Sunny Patel 19. Likewise, Captain Gynendra Malla made three runs. Sandeep Lamichhane took three wickets, and Patel two. 

In the chase of the 144 runs target, the Chitwan was restricted to 132 runs for eight wickets. Dipendra Singh Airee made the highest 41 runs. Likewise, Captain Prithu Baskota hit 26, while Bhim Sarki 21, George Scott 18 and John Simpsam 13. 

Scott claimed two wickets, and Paul Staling, Kamal Singh Airee and Lalit Singh Bhandari one each.
