President Bhandari attends National Democracy Day celebration

Kathmandu : President Bidya Devi Bhandari has attended the main function of the 69th National Democracy Day at the Army Pavilion, Tundikhel today. 

Every year Falgun 7 (today) is celebrated as the National Democracy Day in the memory of the attainment of democracy after an end to autocratic Rana Regime through people's struggle. 

On the occasion, Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister and National Democracy Day-2075 Main Function Committee Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana, Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara and National Assembly Chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina were present. 

Also present on the occasion were Deputy Prime Minister, ministers, constitutional bodies' chiefs, high-ranking government officials and chiefs of diplomatic missions. 
A Nepal Army Helicopter hoisted banner reading 69th National Democracy Day-2075 on the occasion. 

National anthem was recited; homages were paid to all the known and unknown martyrs and march pass was done from various organizations including Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Scout. 

At the ceremony, various dances were performed in a way to reflect peculiar cultures of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Madhyapur Thimi and Kirtipur. 

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had addressed the ceremony. Various media including Nepal Television and Radio Nepal had broadcast the ceremony.
